An American Antiquities Tour

March 23, 2012 § Leave a comment

Last month’s afternoon tour of some of Ohio’s prehistoric sites is contrasted against this month’s trip. As a young student many years ago, I was fascinated by images of the mysterious lines and geoglyphs in the Nazca desert in Peru and of Machu Picchu, “The Lost City of the Inca”. We returned last evening from a twelve day trip to Peru on which I had a chance to visit both of those sites. We were in Peru for other reasons so the visits to both places were brief…as tourists. Still both places were so impressive that I don’t know where to start to write about them. I hope some impressions of those places and the others we visited will condense over the next few weeks as I review the trip and photographs.
